Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and utilizing OverlayCheck (the “Service”), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any portion of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Service.
2. Scope of Service & Available Modules
OverlayCheck provides a 100% client-side digital forensics, OSINT, and security platform. The Service comprises two specialized suites of browser-based tools:
- Image OSINT & Verification Suite: Lossless EXIF/GPS scrubbing, Error Level Analysis (ELA), 8-channel bit-plane steganography slicing, binary file carving past container EOF, directional lighting and noise variance filters, and perceptual/cryptographic hashing with pivot search links.
- CTF, Pentesting & Defender Suite: PNG IHDR chunk parsing and auto-CRC32 height bruteforcing, dual-image pixel math and single-byte XOR key scrubbing, magic byte diagnosis and header fixing, image security and web shell auditing, pixel flood and decompression bomb auditing, and forensic QR code recovery.
- Forensic Knowledge Hub: Technical field guides and educational research authored by Rutvij Khatri covering image verification, steganography tradecraft, and AppSec hardening.
3. Ownership of Data & Intellectual Property
4. Ethical & Authorized Security Testing Policy
Certain tools within our suite (such as the Image Security Auditor, benign canary payload generator, and decompression bomb auditor) are intended exclusively for authorized security audits, CTF training, and defensive engineering. You agree to use these features solely against applications and environments where you have explicit, documented authorization. OverlayCheck prohibits any unauthorized scanning or attacks.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While our binary parsing, CRC32 bruteforcers, and visual filters are engineered for high precision, digital forensics results should be verified independently in critical legal or evidentiary proceedings.
